New Dwarf Fort TV is all about murdering goblins in a 'hall of doom'

Dwarf Fort looks like an innocent adequate sim until you accidentally tap into an aquifer and drown every dwarf in your fortress, or until a horde of goblins shows up to slaughter your children. Any good fortress has a mazelike entrance full of traps in case goblins come knocking, and the latest update video for the upcoming Steam variation of Dwarf Fortress shows extraordinary such "hallway of sentence" with its visualize unused graphics.

Developer Zach Adams plays out a goblin siege in the video, calmly pointing out the blood splatters that appear around his spike and weapon traps. Old players will in all likelihood be more interested in some of the other UI features Adams points out. There's a beleaguering indicator that lets you love enemies are just about, and as long atomic number 3 you're under siege a caravan won't be able to visit your fortress to trade goods.

There are convenient mouse-based menus for pull levers to open and close doors—important for funneling goblins to their well-deserved deaths—and for telling your dwarves not to automatically nab and move dead bodies. Unremarkably it's unspoiled use not to let decomposition corpses sit down around your fortress, but you don't want unarmored dwarves running into an on-going siege to tidy up.

The final carte John Quincy Adams points out is specially dainty. The squad screen lets you opt which of your squads to control, so simply clicking happening a roofing tile along the map lets you post them into engagement. It's a very nice raise from the elaborate keyboard commands obligatory to do much of anything in the classic variant of Dwarf Fortress.

I Don't expect my first goblin siege to go over this easily whenever the Steam version of Dwarf Fortress comes out, but disregarding I'm look forward to spilling a little hobgoblin blood.
